Reading Level I
Reading Level 1: This course was created to give freshmen level students the foundational skills necessary to handle any level of reading passage presented to them on a standardized test. It begins with basic concepts such as having a plan before you begin reading, how to actively read and stay focused while processing a long passage, and discovering the main idea. While providing examples, it supports them through defining the author’s purpose through citing evidence. Ray gives more than simple answers, he understands how hard it can be when a passage is overwhelming, and walks a student through the thick forest of information and guides them to finding the essential answers buried deep in the content.
